National Cadet and U15 Championships - QAFA Tour Registration

Those fencers and parents who wish to attend the National Cadet and Under 15 Championships in Sydney as part of the QAFA tour must complete the attached forms (Registration Form, Tour Rules commitment, and Medical Form) and return to the QAFA mail-box by 21 May 2008. The non-refundable deposit of $300 per person must also be paid by this time. A tour information sheet is also attached.

Please note: the tour is only a QAFA service to organise accommodation and transport within Sydney for QLD fencers. Those fencers who wish to arrange their own accommodation and transport are still able to enter the competition and be assisted by the QAFA coaches and armourer at the venue. There is no requirement to be part of the tour in order to fence in the competition or be selected for QLD teams.

As previously mentioned,participants in the tour must arrange their own flights. It is recommended that you book on the flights quoted in the tour information document as fencers on these flights will be transported to and from the airport in Sydney. If you arrive or leave on other flights you will have to get to the hotel or venue on your own.

UNFORTUNATELY PLEASE NOTE THAT U/17 WOMENS SABRE STARTS 1.00pm SUNDAY 6 JULY AND THE TOUR FLIGHT/BUS WILL NOT ARRIVE IN TIME FOR COMPETITORS TO PREPARE FOR THIS EVENT.

Entry forms for the competition should be available next week once final information is available from the AFF, and will need to be submitted by 13 June. The competition timetable is attached but may be subject to minor change.

Call for Nominations for Officials to Accompany QAFA Tour to National Cadet and U15 Championships

The QAFA is calling for nominations from officials wishing to accompany the tour to Sydney for the Australian Cadet and U15 Championships. At present, the number of officials required has not been determined as this will have to depend on the number of QLD competitors. Officials will be expected to travel and stay with the QAFA tour in Sydney, and assist with its running, in addition to their responsibilities at the venue.

Nominations for positions as coaches, armourers or referees should be made to the Secretary, either by email or in writing sent to the PO Box. To be considered, nominations should be received no later than May 23.

Please note: these positions are not paid. Accomodation with the QAFA tour is provided, a per diem expense will be provided for meal costs and the cost of flights will be reimbursed. The Management Committee will make the final decision on the number of officials required and which nominations will be accepted.
